Setting up Google App Engine SDK - Doesn't Run App
After setting up the Python Google App Engine SDK per Goog开发者_JS百科le's instructions, I run the sample guestbook application in the launcher and get the following in the log:
2011-02-05 18:32:23 Running command: "[u'C:\\Python25\\pythonw.exe', 'C:\\Program Files\\Google\\google_appengine\\dev_appserver.py', '--admin_console_server=', '-- port=8080', u'C:\\Program Files\\Google\\google_appengine\\demos\\guestbook']"

What can I do to fix this? I have absolutely no experience with Python.
Try a different port:
- In the Google App Engine Launcher, click once on your app
- From the menu select
Edit
|Application Settings
- Change the port number from
8080
to something like8888
If you want to see what's using a particular port, run netstat -a -b
from an administrative command prompt.
This may also be a related issue: How to fix socket.gaierror: (11004, 'getaddrinfo failed') error in GAE?
socket.gaierror
has to do with your network. Are you using a hostname for your machine and is it not getting mapped to 127.0.0.1 ? In the applauncher (It is only Windows feature), do you see any where where you can setup address to run, if so, you can use localhost or IP-directly (like 127.0.0.1). Also ensure that the default port 8080 is not blocked by your firewall or occupied by some other port.
