Amazon cloud hosting, how is it different

I am asked to explore the possibility of publishing my mobile apps to amazon cloud. I need to know how amazon cloud different from normal we hosting ? what are their charges ? can i put mobile apps, both thick client an开发者_JAVA技巧d thin client in amazon cloud and use it as appstore ?

You are already missing the basic concept here I think. What Amazon offers you are different services ranging from data storage (S3) to computing resources (EC2), DNS services (route53) and lot's of other services.

What of those you need no one can tell you based on your question. To less info. So my wild guess is to use Amazon you would need to boot up a virtual machine (EC2) of your desired size and then install the operating system you fancy and all other software you need.

Regarding your question about thin and thick clients and app stores I don't know what you mean by that. But with a virtual machine you can basically do anything you can do with any other server.
