Upgrade from Spring 2.5 to Spring 3.0.5 a Josso application server

I am trying to updagrade from spring 2.5.6 to Spring 3.0.5. We are using josso for single sign on. JOSSO(1.8.2) installs spring 2.5 libs in jboss(4.2.2) server lib folder. We have spring libs in ear lib folder, hence we have conflict between jboss server libs and ear libs. I tried to replace jboss server libs with spring 3.0.5 but I am getting following error:

Any pointer, what is going wrong?

The error message is:

schema_reference.4: Failed to read schema document 'http://www.josso.org/schema/josso-jboss42-agent.xsd', because 1) could not find the document; 2) the document could not be read; 3) the root element of the document is not .

You get this kind of message if you use a additional spring namespace where the xsd is not found when starting spring.

You can do two things:

1) fix the url, or

2) create a own jar file, put the xsd in it and add a spring.schemas File to its META-INF directory. The spring.schemas File is a kind of property file: key is the xsd url (you have to escape the ':' !) and the value is the location of the xsd file within the jar For example:

http\://www.josso.org/schema/josso-jboss42-agent.xsd=org/josso.sechma/josso-jboss42-agent.xsd

There is problem in JOSSO XML Schema XSD's. Spring 3.0 has introduced strict XML validations, hence JOSSO was giving error. We have disable the Spring XML validations by configuring the application context. Please refer this link.

I'm wondering if the Spring JARs that JOSSO installs into JBoss were modified in some way, such as adding custom schema files required by JOSSO's Spring configuration style. That would be consistent with the stack trace, which shows Spring trying to load the application context and failing because it can't find a schema. The Spring convention is to put the schema files for a given XML configuration file inside the JAR file.

Have a look inside the original Spring JAR files, inside the META-INF directories, see if you can see any JOSSO-related schema files in there. If you do, then you're going to have to try and reconstruct the same information alongside the Spring 3 JARs, which is a non-trivial exercise.
