how do i create separate log file to detect error in php [closed]

i need help with my problem and start to desperate for it. so recently i've been givin a monitoring file that i run in xampp along with the sql file to import so i can log in.

the problem is, even though the db is match with the file it kept me from log in to the monitoring panel. and my mentor said to create separate log file, so whenever i kept from log in it can be record and write into the log file.

question: is it possible to create a new log file one when there's one already available and if it is where should i put it?
