adding subviews to a view while it is being panned or zoomed

i am working on a application where a block of sentences in a book gets highlighted with a time interval. highlighting is done by adding a imageView with a color with color component on the sentences. i could do this successfully.

but while i zoom the page or pan the page the imageViews are not being开发者_开发技巧 added to the view. the imageViews are loaded and added after the zooming or panning is done. but my requirement is that the imageViews should be added even while zooming or panning is being done.

can't we add any subviews to a view while the view is being zoomed , panned, etc. can any one suggest me in this regard.
