VS2010 Build: non existing target

I have a Windows 7 System with VS2010 and when I create a new project and choose all the defaults I get the following error when trying to build:

1>C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft.Cpp\v4.0\Microsoft.BuildSteps.Targets(111,7): 
          error MSB4057: The target "BuildLink" does not exist in the project.

I cannot build any projects, I tried a few sample projects in the VS2010 install di开发者_C百科rectory and tried creating my own new projects.
