Drag objects outside the browser window

Is it possible to drag objects outside the browser window in order to implement file/directory copying from webserver to desktop?

With javascript and jquery? No. Since these are rendered in the browser, they stop working outside the browser. This is something that has to be implemented by the browser itself, or in the operating system.
