tagging in Rails 3
what would be a good solution for tag开发者_开发知识库ging in Rails 3?
I looked at both solutions, but prefer https://github.com/mbleigh/acts-as-taggable-on over https://github.com/jviney/acts_as_taggable_on_steroids
Better documentation and to me it seems more flexible.

is a new library I just created yesterday. It's implemented using Ernie Miller's squeel gem where possible so all the scary SQL needed to implement a tags library correctly is quite clean.

which is a lot cleaner, though I don't claim to have handled every feature the acts_as_taggable_on has implemented. There is always tomorrow :)
So if you want a tagging library you can dive into and add features to rocket_tag might be what you want.
It also is careful about performance and avoids the N+1 problem when loading associated tags. It's worth a look but is very alpha at the moment and I'll add features as my project requires them.
BTW. Thanks to acts-as-taggable-on. I'm no way flaming the library. I borrowed the schema and ideas from it but when I wanted to fix my own features I felt the SQL style in the code was quite hard to understand and after using https://github.com/ernie/squeel for my AR query needs I felt like I could work better with a clean slate.
RocketTag also has a comprehensive rspec test suite https://github.com/bradphelan/rocket_tag/blob/master/spec/rocket_tag/taggable_spec.rb
